A brand designer like myself may offer a collaborative process. We’re people who truly value collaboration with our clients.
Picture this: you’re my design client
I want to make sure that you are getting a brand that can actually bring results for your business without completely disregarding your aesthetics. Brand design is all about strategy and how you can grow your business, but I personally don’t think your visual preferences or individual aesthetic should be completely thrown out the window. This is your business, it’s precious, took a long time to build and has insane potential. I know that you want what’s best for it, and I do too.
There’s a difference between designing with the client’s idea in mind and just doing everything they say.
Collaborating on your brand is more than just telling your brand designer what you want and expecting them to fulfil that ask, and only that ask. The branding process is a partnership where the client isn’t just a recipient of the brand designs but they’re also an active participant in the building process. Get it?
Every business has its own unique story, and collaborating allows us designers to use that story in a design. We want to understand your journey, challenges and goals.
But what about the feedback process? What if I totally hate it?
Feedback is fuel. It’s not just about receiving comments. I view my clients feedback as insights. It means I can refine and perfect the brand. Nothing is taken to heart and nothing is off the table. My design process starts with a creative direction [BORRRINGGGG] I know, it can be. In normal words, this is basically 2 moodboards that are built based on the strategy and your aesthetics. Then, my client chooses which they prefer and we build the designs based on that. If you wanna make a change to the moodboard, cool! Let’s do it.
I make sure that this creative direction [moodboard] stage is fully agreed on before I start any designs to make sure we’re on the same page. This means, if you get your design and you totally hate it, then there’s probably been a miscommunication in the moodboard stage. We can go back and fix what’s going on there, and do it again.
But this is rare.

The more time we spend perfecting the vision in the moodboard stage, the clearer the vision becomes for both the designer and the client. This doesn’t mean no changes! It just means that when the first round of designs come, any changes that happen are usually small tweaks to perfect it. Why? Because we already had the same vision in mind, I just had to bring it to life. [And because of the brand strategy we did, you know this brand can bring results for your business too.] Win win!
Relationship with my brand designer?!
No, not that kind of relationship. I’ve found that collaborating with my clients has brought some amazing long-term client-designer relationships.
Branding isn’t a one & done thing. It evolves and grows over time, just like you. I love being there to support my clients brands long after we’ve worked together.
Why settle for less? Collaborate for Success
That rhymed! But if we’re gonna wrap this up, the collaborative nature of my process is key. My clients recognise their role as a key contributor to the project, not just someone who tells me how they want it to look. What you want and what you need aren’t always the same. However, you know what you want and I know what you need. So why not work with me to bring it to life, instead of doing it alone?
